About CSEA Local 852
Suffolk Local 852 was chartered in January, 1948 representing local government employees.

Today, we are a custodial local - with over 3,400 members who comprise the 38 units within Local 852.

These units represent employees in Towns, Villages and Libraries throughout Suffolk County.

Our Local is one of 23 locals on Long Island that make up CSEA Region 1; There are six regions within New York State with over 265,000 members.

Suffolk Local 852 has 12 elected officers/delegates and an additional 2 elected delegates. Many of these officers and delegates hold dual positions within their units.

The current four-year term of office for local and unit officers began on July 1, 2009 and will expire on June 30, 2013.
